Laura Tamblyn Watts

Laura specializes in making hard conversations easier, more light-hearted, more compassionate: the ones that take place in living rooms and at kitchen tables in every home at some point in a parent’s life. Sometimes they are scheduled and planned, sometimes they are off-hand and casual, sometimes they are in crisis and emergencies, but they are all about the decisions that arise as our parents get older. This book helps to capture the lessons she has learned in hundreds of conversations with caregivers and parents as they navigate the challenges of care, money, relationships, housing, and more.

As the CEO of CanAge, Canada’s national seniors’ advocacy organization, Laura dedicates herself to advocacy, policy-making and research to help us all live longer better. She teaches Law and Aging at the University of Toronto and has worked as a lawyer defending the rights of older people. Tamblyn Watts is also a regular media guest and keynote speaker on aging issues. She lives in Toronto, Canada.
